Sensory signature
Amber, in all its depth.
Caramel opens the tasting, a woody warmth takes over, and the finish goes on and on. The CETAM laboratory summed up its flavour in three words: fruity, tangy, persistent. You don’t spread it: you take it by the spoonful, slowly.
- Colour
- Deep amber, luminous at the edge of the spoon.
- Texture
- Dense, supple, slow to thread.
- What lingers
- Woody, warm and lasting, never heavy.
Our tasting stance
When you open it, the dark colour looks almost opaque. Spread thinly, the amber turns luminous. In the mouth, the density slows the tasting before a clean, woody taste.
Taste a small spoonful at room temperature, then explore the pairing of your choice.
Wadi Do’an · Hadhramaut
An autumn harvest, once a year.
Named origin
In Yemen, in the valleys of Wadi Do’an in the Hadhramaut, beekeepers move their hives with the flowering seasons. The jujubier blooms in autumn, for a few weeks: this honey is harvested only once a year. Ours is from the 2025 harvest, raw, never heated.

Hello, I have just received my order of Sidr honey from Yemen. It is simply an immense experience of taste. A subtle, fine evolution, rich in flavour right through to the final tasting. Well done! I am delighted and charmed by this lovely discovery. Bravo to you, Graines de Pèlerins, for your excellence. I recommend it warmly! See you soon. Zeïdi IKHERBANE
Really high quality honey. I had brought some back from Bahrain but I think it was not real Sidr. This one clearly is: very dense, a perfect taste. Very quick delivery and the honey comes in a beautifully made presentation box. In short... Very happy with my purchase, I will certainly buy again. Sabrina

Essential questions
Before you choose
01What does jujubier honey taste like?
Intense and long. Caramel comes first, then a woody warmth, then a finish that lasts. The CETAM laboratory describes a powerful, fruity aroma and a fruity, tangy, persistent flavour. Its texture is dense: enjoy it with a small spoon, at room temperature, rather than on toast.
02Where does this honey come from, and how can I be sure of its origin?
From Wadi Do’an, in the Hadhramaut region of Yemen, where the jujubier tree blooms for a few weeks in autumn. Our jar comes from the 2025 harvest. The CETAM laboratory analysed it (report M253022, 31 December 2025, published in full on this page): it declares it compliant with the French honey decree and proposes the name “Jujubier (Yémen)”.
03Why is my honey crystallising?
Because it is raw, never heated: crystallising is a natural change in honey, at its own pace. Jujubier honey does so slowly, over several months; a cool room firms it up, gentle warmth softens it. Neither its taste nor its quality changes.
04How should I store it, and can I heat it?
Jar tightly closed, at room temperature, away from light, never in the fridge, with a clean, dry spoon: honey absorbs moisture. To soften it, a lukewarm water bath below 40 °C is enough. Never the microwave: strong heat damages its aromas.
05How is it different from supermarket honey?
One flower, one valley, one harvest, written on the jar: jujubier, Wadi Do’an, 2025. A raw honey, never heated or pasteurised, prepared in small batches, with its analysis published. Its moisture content, measured at 14.2% where the general rule allows up to 20%, explains its density. A honey sold as a “blend of honeys” combines several origins for a constant taste; this one tastes of a place and a season.
06When will I receive it?
We prepare every order, usually within 48 working hours. In France and Belgium, your parcel then arrives within 3 to 5 working days; for other countries, the estimated date is shown at checkout. Free Mondial Relay delivery · France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Your jar travels in its presentation box, with its spoon; if it arrives damaged, send us a photo and we will send you a new one, at our expense.
07Is sidr honey the same as jujube honey?
Yes. Sidr is the Arabic name for the jujube tree (Ziziphus). Yemeni sidr honey and Yemeni jujube honey are the same honey, made from the blossom of a tree that flowers for only a few weeks each autumn. Ours comes from Wadi Do’an, in the Hadhramaut, 2025 harvest.
08Why is Yemeni sidr honey so expensive?
Because it is scarce: the tree blooms for only a few weeks a year, there is a single harvest, and it comes from remote valleys in Yemen. Our 250 g jar arrives in a presentation box with its spoon, and its lab report is published in full.
09How can you tell genuine Yemeni sidr honey?
Three markers: a precise origin (valley and harvest year), a pollen analysis by an independent laboratory that proposes the jujube name, and the full report published. Ours: CETAM Lorraine report M253022 of 31/12/2025, proposed name Jujubier (Yémen), 14.2% moisture.
10What colour is it, and does it crystallise?
Amber, from golden to brown depending on the light and the depth of the jar. It crystallises slowly, over several months: that is natural for a raw, never-heated honey, and it does not change its taste. A lukewarm water bath, below 40 °C, makes it supple again.
